Uncle Bill's Take: Vincent Paris, whose first vintage was 1997, is as shy as his wines are bold. In his early 30s, he has retro sideburns, but not much else in the Cornas appellation's new star is "retro." Cornas is the surely prince to Hermitage's king of Northern Rhône Syrah (and Rotie's queen). It can be a savage, unyielding wine in its youth, but this promises to delight even in its infancy.
